Discover a unique view of the rooftops of Bordeaux from the second terrace overlooking the cathedral. This panorama was photographed before the installation of netting fall, thrill guaranteed! By a stone staircase of 231 steps, visitors can access the two terraces, the first 40 meters in height, the second at 49 meters. Administered by the Centre for National Monuments, the tower Pey-Berland welcomes 40,000 visitors a year.

The cathedral bell tower

The Pey-Berland tower is part of the Cathedral of St. André. Its construction separate from the main body of the cathedral, responds to a desire to provide the most important bells while avoiding vibration risks that could threaten the structure. A large bell of eight tons, named Ferdinand
Andrew, was installed in 1869.

The Pey-Berland Tower

The tower is named after its sponsor, the archbishop Pey-Berland (1370-1458). He was the architect of the revival of the Church in Aquitaine then under the domination of the Plantagenets.
